About the Artist:

Born in 1943, Ergin İnan entered the İstanbul Academy of Applied Arts for Painting in 1964 and was taught by both Karl Schlamminger and Helmut Hungerberg. In 1969, he was awarded a scholarship by the Salzburg Summer Academy where he studied painting with Emilio Vedova.

From this period onwards, Mevlana and his doctrines became a part of his art. He produced works in plenty of mediums such as painting, collage, pattern and sculpture. The “insects” İnan began drawing in this period became the artist's trademark. His works are in private and public collections in Turkey and around the world. Among these, we can count İstanbul current Museum, İstanbul State Painting and Sculpture Museum, Antwerp Contemporary Arts Museum (MUHKA) (Belgium), Dahlem Museum etc.
